Learning Objectives

There will be a wide variation in what needs to be learned and what can be learned by various team members, but there are certain areas where we want every team member to demonstrate marked personal growth. The areas are:

  1. The 12 Core Values of TIMO. By the end of TIMO, team members should have a conscious awareness and acceptance of these values, and they should have begun the process of subconsciously incorporating these values into their lives and ministries.
  2. Language Learning. Team members should have developed the confidence and ability to learn a foreign language using the pedagogical method called LAMP (Language Acquisition Made Practical).
  3. Flexibility. Team members should have developed a deepened sense of flexibility, including the ability to adapt physically and emotionally to unexpected or unwelcome situations.
  4. Critical Thinking. Team members should have developed an increased faculty for critical thinking. Learning how to ask questions, discuss the merits and demerits of a certain issue, sift and collate information, and arrive at working conclusions are all part of a lifelong learning process that TIMO seeks to encourage.
  5. Team Player. Team members will have an increased competence in working and relating in a team setting.
  6. Four Core Units. Team members will have developed working, personal philosophies regarding the four core units of the curriculum. There will also be a deepened understanding of the complexities and nuances of prayer and spiritual warfare, cross-cultural communication, evangelism & church planting, and discipleship.
  7. Philosophy of Ministry. Team members should demonstrate the beginnings of a holistic personal philosophy of ministry which will incorporate the team member’s personal beliefs and TIMO experiences into a unified approach to life and ministry.
  8. Spiritual Maturity. Team members should have a growing spiritual maturity as a result of a deepening relationship with Father God.
  9. Leadership Development. Every team member is considered a leader to one extent or another. Growth in self-leadership and in the ability to lead others should be demonstrable.
